MC and the compost

MC said she wanted to help me empty the compost bucket into the compost bin, but then after hauling the bucket down the steps,

we weren't so sure that is really something to be messed with.

But our garden, although planted, needs extra nutrients so here we go.

we start dumping,

and most of it goes into the compost bin, but then you have to actually pick up the "stuff" that missed.

Then you need to add water,

which when you are only 3 years old is really alot of fun!

Then you have to mix everything together

Gosh that was hard work

What a funny girl!!!!!!

Waffles for lunch

Yesterday at the preschool where I am subbing we had Breakfast for Lunch.  Waffles, sausage and hash browns were a big hit with the 2-3year olds.  But toward the end of lunch one of the little boys said he couldn't see out of his eye, it had something crusty and his eye was stuck shut.  Of course my first thought was pinkeye - yuck!  I knew he had a runny nose that morning and also thought it might be just allergies.  But then I looked - WHAT?????  Nope, not pinkeye, not allergies - just stuck together with syrup!  Well I never!!   As a matter of fact none of the other teachers had ever had a kids stick his eyelids together with syrup either.   What a hoot.

Merry Christmas a little late!

Christmas night we had everyone in the family at home.  As you can imagine it was quite a show with 5 grandchildren ranging in ages from the twins at 5 month, J at 1 yr , MC at 3 yr and B at almost 8.

My sweet, sweet friend had bought all 5 kids matching pjs and we wanted to get a picture of them since we are almost never all together at one time.  It was great, turned out it appears no one person was in control as everyone wanted to get pictures - kids-gone-wild!

B and MC were trying very hard to just hold onto a twin and hold the pose while those around them scrambled to get away.

But aren't they cute!
